Re-Register Identity Card for 30/55-year-olds
Eligibility and Timeline
• SCs and PRs must re-register their IC at 30 and 55 years old, unless a replacement card has been issued in the last 10 years. 
• If residing overseas during the re-registration period, re-registration should be completed within one year of returning to Singapore. 
Required Documents
Applicants must provide original documents and official translations (for non-English documents), along with copies for ICA to retain. Accepted translations include those from the issuing country’s embassy, a notary public, or translations attested/notarised by appropriate authorities. 
For Singapore Citizens, required digital images include:
• Baptism or religious certificate (if including a religious name)
• Deed poll for change of name
• Marriage certificate (if including a married name)
• Recent passport-sized colour photograph (taken within the last three months) 
For Singapore Permanent Residents, required digital images include:
• Passport personal particulars page (showing updated name, if applicable)
• Marriage certificate (if applicable)
• Recent colour photograph (taken within the last three months) 
Application Process
Eligible individuals will receive a digital notification from ICA via SMS or the Singpass app. Re-registration must be completed within one year of the notification date through ICA’s online e-Service using Singpass. 
Fees
• S$10 for Singapore Citizens
• S$50 for Singapore Permanent Residents
Payment for online applications can be made via major credit/debit cards, Internet banking, or PayNow. 
Processing and Collection
ICA aims to process applications within seven working days, though delays may occur if photos or documents do not meet requirements. After approval, applicants are notified to make an appointment to collect their new IC, which must be done within three months of approval. 
This re-registration process supports accurate identification and helps maintain the integrity of Singapore’s national registration system.
