Planning 4 or 5 nights in June. We’d like to stay on Sentosa at the Village Hotel because of the resort feel but we will probably only do the tourist things on the island for one or two days maximum. The rest of the time we will be travelling to the city, the zoos, other attractions etc.

How practical is it to stay the entire nights on Sentosa and just travel for the day trips to the city? I can see it’s about half an hour to drive to the zoo and 10 minutes to drive to the CBD from the proposed hotel but I’m wondering if this is the full picture or whether it’s hard to get a grab or taxi, very expensive or there’s anything else I’m not taking into account.

I also understand there is a station and I am overtaking the light rail from Vivo city in the past. I’m assuming this would require a shuttle bus from the hotel though so it might add time and a direct taxi would be preferable.

I just don’t want to be stuck on the tourist Island and not be able to easily affordably visit the rest of Singapore during the days. Any insights would be wonderful.
