Once your In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter for a Student’s Pass has been issued, the next step is to complete the required formalities so that your Student’s Pass can be formally issued. These formalities must be completed within the timeframe specified in your IPA letter and usually involve visiting the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) Services Centre in Singapore.

Before attending your appointment, check your IPA letter for instructions on what documents to bring. Typically, you will need to present your original passport, IPA letter, passport-sized photos that meet ICA specifications, and any other supporting documents listed in the letter. Ensure that all documents are complete, as missing items may delay the issuance process.

At the ICA Services Centre, officials will verify your identity and documents, and you may be required to provide biometric data such as fingerprints and a photograph. Once the formalities are completed and verified, ICA will proceed with issuing your Student’s Pass.

When your Student’s Pass has been issued, you will receive a notification. The pass is typically issued in digital format, which you can access through Singpass or the relevant government service portal. Some institutions or employers may also require you to print a copy for record-keeping purposes.

It is important to complete the formalities within the deadline specified in your IPA letter, as failure to do so may result in cancellation of your Student’s Pass application. Always refer to the instructions given in your IPA letter for the exact process and required items.
