Need some advice about taking ferries from Harbour Front to Batam island.

We have plans to take ferry from Harbour Front to Batam sometimes at the end of next month. As this is our first time going Batam, need to consider few issues. Read that there are few ferry operators eg. Majestic Fast, Sindo Ferry, BatamFast, Horizon etc…

Questions:

1. Which operators is more reliable, easier & convenient to connect to our hotel (Aston Nagoya City Hotel)? Given that the fares are the same for all operators (if I’m not mistaken). And, do we really need to book online in advance or it would be better to just walk-in and purchase return tickets over the counter?(Targeted to arrive Changi airport around 10am+)

2. Also read some online package offers add-on extra service (such as faster immigration clearance at Batam), is the immigration queue @ Batam that bad and add-on service is necessary & worthy for us travelling on weekend?
