If you are a Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) and have a valid Re-Entry Permit (REP), you must transfer that permit to a new travel document when you obtain one — for example, when you renew your passport. This ensures that your REP continues to be valid and linked to the correct travel document when you travel overseas.

Who Needs to Transfer a REP?

Any PR who holds a valid REP and has received a new passport or travel document must transfer the existing REP to the new document. Without transferring, travellers may face difficulties at immigration when entering or leaving Singapore.

How to Transfer

The transfer is done online through the ICA e-Service using your Singpass account. Once the transfer is successful, you can print the updated REP for your records and travel needs. It is recommended to carry this print-out when you travel.

Fees

There is no fee for transferring a valid REP to a new travel document.

Processing Time

In most cases, the transfer is processed within three working days (excluding the date of submission), although some cases may take longer.

Important Notes
• The REP must be valid at the time of transfer.
• If your REP is not updated with your new travel document details, you may experience inconvenience at immigration clearance.
