If you are holding a Student’s Pass in Singapore and your course of study has ended, you are no longer enrolled, or you are leaving Singapore permanently, you are required to cancel your Student’s Pass with the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). Cancelling your pass promptly helps ensure your immigration records are up to date and avoids potential issues with future visits or pass applications. (ica.gov.sg)

When to Cancel

You should apply for cancellation of your Student’s Pass if:
• You have completed your course.
• You have withdrawn or discontinued your studies.
• You are leaving Singapore permanently or no longer require the pass.
Cancellation must be done even if your pass has already expired.

How to Cancel

The cancellation process is completed online via ICA’s e-Service portal. To begin the process:
1. Log in with Singpass.
2. Provide your Student’s Pass details.
3. Submit the cancellation request.

Your educational institution may assist or provide guidance to students on how to submit a cancellation application.

Required Information

To submit your cancellation request, you will generally need:
• Your Student’s Pass number.
• Your passport details.
• Any supporting information about your study status or departure.

No supporting documents are usually required unless specifically requested by ICA.

After Cancellation

Once your Student’s Pass is successfully cancelled:
• You should no longer use the pass to remain in Singapore.
• If you plan to stay in Singapore under another pass (e.g., work pass or visitor pass), make the necessary application based on your new circumstances.

Important Notes
• A cancellation request should be submitted before you leave Singapore, if possible.
• Cancelling your pass does not automatically affect other immigration passes you may hold; each pass must be managed separately.
• If you fail to cancel your Student’s Pass and remain in Singapore with no valid pass, you may be in breach of immigration regulations.
