SINGAPORE — Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) is partnering with SATS, its bento meal provider, to revise the recipes and presentation of student meals following feedback from the school community.

The adjustments come after students and parents raised concerns about the quality and appeal of the bento meals served on campus. In response, HCI engaged SATS to review menu items and food preparation methods with the aim of improving both taste and visual presentation.

School leaders said the collaboration reflects a commitment to listening to stakeholder feedback and ensuring that meal offerings meet the expectations of students. Discussions between HCI and SATS have focused on enhancing flavour profiles, portion balance and the overall appearance of the meals.

Representatives from SATS confirmed that changes will be implemented progressively, with selected dishes due for trial adjustments based on student preferences. The provider is also exploring ways to make meals more nutritionally balanced while maintaining variety across weekly offerings.

Hwa Chong Institution emphasised that student well-being remains a priority, and the review process underscores its dedication to creating an enjoyable dining experience for the school community.
